Good tips for all ages. 💚 ⛰️ ⛺️ 👟
You can have the perfect fit shoes and still get blisters from your feet sweating. Change socks at rest stops and hang the spare pair on the outside of your pack to air dry. Also, bring along a bottle of potassium pills and your favorite multi-vitamins.
Im 50 and planning a thru hike of the AT possibly next year. Im a year out from a hernia surgery so I assess my real age at 60 in terms of hiking. Although this may change as I’m preparing both in nutrition and exercise. 2 questions. I am single. Id rather hike with others but suspect hiking alone is normal through many parts of the trail? 2. Is it even a reasonable expectation to think an older person can finish the entire trail? I appreciate you.
Tip # 13 is pronounced ” hike your own hike” to those of us who speak in modern lingo. 😀
I’m only 50, but I feel 80. Just had my first hip replacement surgery. Me and my dog are going to hike the triple crown in one calendar year, we’ll do it in 4 months.
